2025 Charities
West Norfolk Befriending aims to reduce social isolation by providing a link to the outside world. We match isolated older people with trained volunteer Befrienders who will visit or call on a regular basis.
West Raynham SHQ - Veterans Central is a charity created for the public benefit, to promote social inclusion amongst veterans and ex-emergency services personnel who are excluded from society, or parts of society, due to ill health (physical and mental), old age, disability, or their social and economic position by preventing them from becoming socially excluded, relieving the need of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society.
Every month there is a veterans breakfast morning. This year NMVG sponsored the January breakfast morning.
SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity is a trusted source of support for serving personnel, veterans and their families in their time of need.
Our service operates 24/7 and, on average, answers four calls for help a day, treating around 900 patients in life-threatening emergencies every year.
We serve the communities of Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and across the East of England, and are dispatched by both the East of England and the East Midlands Ambulance Service Trusts—caring for a population of over 10 million.
SARS provide specialist volunteer responders to assist the East of England Ambulance Service at the scenes of serious medical emergencies or trauma.
Our clinical resource consists of a network of solo responders and mobile critical care teams who can respond to incidents across Suffolk and its adjacent counties.
SARS is mobilised via the EEAST critical care desk, which monitors incoming 999 calls to the region.
SARS responders include anaesthetists, critical care paramedics and other clinicians with enhanced prehospital skills. These clinicians are authorised to carry specialist drugs and additional life-saving equipment not found on frontline ambulances.
This means that SARS clinicians can provide an additional and advanced level of patient care that would not normally be available outside the hospital environment.
This can help save lives, reduce the chances of patients suffering permanent disability and provide relief from extreme pain. As our clinicians live locally, it also means that they can be on scene before any other medical resource - a speed of response which can be vital for time-critical patients.
We will be arranging an NMVG dedicated tribute plaque with a printed white inscription, attached to a 1.2m stake that will stand in the wildflower meadow of the British Normandy Memorial, for a minimum of 5 years.
The sponsorship supports the Normandy Memorial Trust.
